What is due diligence?

Due diligence is the investigation an investor (or acquirer) does before committing: checking the company's finances, legal setup, cap table, IP, contracts, team and claims.

Having a clean data room, signed IP assignments and founder vesting in place makes diligence faster.

General information, not legal, tax or investment advice.
